My name is Craig I. Carter;

I am the Senior Pastor at Williams Temple COGIC.

Although, I was born in Huntsville, Texas; I was raised in Houston, Texas. I am a Veteran of the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge in 1987.

I have over 30 years of ministerial duties and training; which include several years of outreach ministry such as street, prison, and hospital ministry.

My family and I join Williams Temple in April 1963 and in 1985 I received my Ordination, under the leadership of Bishop Robert E. Woodard Sr. I served faithfully under the leadership of Bishop Robert E. Woodard Sr, Bishop Robert E. Woodard Jr. and Pastor John E. Landrum (Tacoma, Washington for 5 years).

I have worked street ministry in Tacoma, Washington and in the 3rd Ward area of Houston, Texas. I have preached and ministered in the prisons and hospitals of Washington State for over four years. I have traveled throughout the United States spreading the Gospel and teaching soul winning techniques to several co-laborers in the ministry.

In February 2004, I founded The Living Word Church of Houston. The Living Word was a bible based and bible teaching ministry, filled with loving and caring people.

On December 19, 2017, I was appointed as Pastor of Williams Temple by our Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake. At this time, I’m proud to say, “The Living Word-ers” followed their pastor and joined the Williams Temple family.

I am happily married to my loving wife Angel Carter and I am a proud father of 3 outstanding children.

I count it an honor to serve the people of God and I do so with all my might.

“Winning Souls and Changing Lives by the Preaching of the Gospel is my passion.”
